Welcome to my ambitious project for 2011!
This year I'm starting the blog your reading right now to gather my thoughts on the Boston Red Sox season. In a cross between Faithful and the Julie/Julia Project, the hope for this blog is to post each day the Red Sox play to document the highs and lows of the season and to keep track of what will hopefully be a historic year. I'll comment on who played well, who's looking terrible, what our chances are for (or in) the playoffs, and what that all means to me.
You may be asking yourself, "Why am I reading this?" The answer is, "I don't know." But perhaps you're actually asking, "How can someone living on the West Coast possibly watch every single Red Sox game this season?" Through the magic of the internet, my friend. I'm going to subscribe to MLB TV this year which will let me watch Red Sox games on my TV, even here in Seattle. The service comes with the ability to watch games after the fact so even if life interferes with my quest, I can still speed through the day's game at night and jot some notes down.
Still not convinced this is worthwhile? Well, me either. But I'm looking forward to giving it a shot; at the very least it should be entertaining. Today is the first day of Spring Training so expect a few blogs on the offseason happenings and the results of the Grapefruit League before the season officially gets under way.
